Lawn, sprinklers, and a water feature
A new build on open ground given a full lawn apron, an irrigation system, a stone entry courtyard, and a water feature at the door.
Start with a site walkWhat went in
On the ground in Marion.
On open country there is nothing between the house and the horizon, so the work has to build its own sense of arrival. Here that is a stone courtyard at the entry with a water feature in it, and a lawn apron that gives the house a defined edge instead of letting it sit in a field.
The irrigation went in with the lawn. On ground this exposed, a system is not an upgrade, it is the only reason new turf survives its first summer.
- Sod apron laid around the house and pool deck
- Sprinkler system installed with the lawn
- River rock entry courtyard with steel edging
- Basalt column water feature set at the entry
- Stone-bordered rock apron around the pool deck
- Lawn edges cut to a curve against graded ground
